Black Fabric

“I create through adversity—turning struggle into movement, and movement into meaning. What tried to break me became the blueprint, and every piece I make is a rhythm only the soul can hear.”

My art is a dance—imperfectly perfect, instinctive, and alive. Losing my eyesight didn’t stop me from creating; it gave me a new language. One shaped by energy, emotion, and intuition. I began to move differently. To feel differently. And in that shift, my purpose became clear.

Every canvas is a reflection of my journey—textured, layered, and bold. I work with yarn, florals, glow-in-the-dark paint, and foam not just for aesthetics, but to create pieces you don’t just look at—you feel. My process is rooted in healing, storytelling, and presence. It’s about honoring what we carry, what we overcome, and what we’re still learning to become.

I’m Reggie McFly—a visually impaired, Chicago-based mixed media artist who paints with more than sight. I paint with soul. With memory. With truth. And I invite you to experience that truth, not through perfection—but through the beauty of becoming.
